| 76869 | 2002-09-06 00:35:00 | I just heard of a computer that is doing far too much, and appears to be suffering from exaustion. This one provides proof that they DO have personallity.. It decided to go into "sleep" mode in the middle writing a PDF file, and then switched itself off. It has done this twice this morning.. Could it be that it just needs a little rest? Perhaps a wee holiday in a sunny resort somewhere? Maybe a good strong cuppa coffee is needed? Maybe it had a hard night last night, and has a bit of a hangover? Maybe it's just feeling a bit sensative, and would like to be left alone? I've only just got up, and when i heard that my only thoughts were "WHAT?????????" |

| 76870 | 2002-09-06 02:53:00 | Could be phase of the moon - mine just had a major unexplained crash - was browsing f1 when all phroze up. So I reboot and get lovely message : Operating system not found. Boot from EBD - "Windows detecded that you have no FAT and you should reboot and follow directions" but I know better cos I have 3 partitions so I run FDISK : "No partition found" Yikes! I thought my hard drive is kaput, so I pull the laptop to millions of pieces just to get the thing out and had a sniff. Couldnt smell any death so checked all connections and put it all back together. I turned it on and lo! It works, but now I have no modem... pull it to bits again (if anyone reading this has ever pulled a laptop to bits, you know how frustrating it is) and pull out the modem, not deth evidence again , put back together and lo! it works, Now as I'm typing this, I just lost my mouse... waaahaaaa..... :( |
