| 77455 | 2002-09-08 00:19:00 | Oh dear... while attempting to cut and paste large amounts of data through my hard drive, my computer decided to throw a wobbly and did BSOD me, but "reset" explorer... my desktop came back to normal and I carried on as usual... Now, whenever I open Outlook Express (default mail reader, and I restarted PC btw) it used to connect but now says it can't find a dynamic link lib.... (dll) to dial or something... the only way I can use it, is by creating a NEW identity and switching over to that identity, and then there is no problem... I can't export my messages, or address book, etc... even by selecting the import function under the new account... it says "the specified message store is in use, etc...." Anyway, am going to defrag my drive, but anyone have any ideas??? |

| 77457 | 2002-09-08 00:56:00 | I think you are going to have to give more detail... the unknown missing .dll that reappears if you set up a new profile, and effects dialing isn't really alot to go on. I think that you may have corrupted your message store, or it's location, Find the location of your old message store. If you run a search for *.dbx you will find 2 folders old store and new. set up a new profile, and tell it to use the old store (you may have to guess, but there is only 2 options) write them down. Tools > options > maintanance > store folder > change > browse to guess #1 > DO NOT OVERWRITE, use what is there. If that doesn't work, try guess 2 Good luck You might get it back Chris. |
