2002-09-07 03:08:00 | Just thought you might like to check out the redesigned website: http://www.elitesystems.co.nz I know it ain't a great improvement, but I'd like more of that constructive criticism :)

2002-09-07 04:41:00 | Hiya Honeylaser Yep! That's a 500% improvement on the old version, I located everything I needed to know in a couple of minutes and I found navigation particularly good. I liked the option to scroll down a topic or jump down by clicking one of the headers. It's not rocket science, just plain old common sense. I have only two (picky) criticisms, firstly I hate US spelling using z instead of s (e.g. criticize instead of criticise or recognize instead of recognise) and the possessive "its" does not have an apostrophe, that usage is reserved for the contraction of "it is", where it does become it's. Don't apologise for your effort, I know what I like and this is OK with me. Pity you can't show Press F1'ers the old site we are talking about so that they can see how bad it was. You could refer them to the home site for the company that produced it though, that was just as bad! Cheers Billy 8-{)

2002-09-07 05:30:00 | That's a really nice clean front page. Can't comment on the contents of the site but you can trust Billy's judgement on that. I just really wanted to say that the eye graphic is fantastic, I love it! Looks just like a real one, only prettier.

2002-09-08 03:37:00 | just to mention.. Greenwood Tech did the webdesign again, but one of the guys at work has taken the credits off the site for some reason. As for the Americanized spellings, thats because all of the articles were written using Word on a terminal services machine.. and I wasn't able to get into the terminal server to change the stupid program from American Dictionary with Auto Correct! I tried to alter as much as possible to how it should be, but I have a feeling said workmate has gone and redone it again. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it!

2002-09-08 04:31:00 | I know this was for Billy T and you were asking his opinion, but I just had to be nosey now didn't I? So hope you don't mind me adding my tuppence worth It's a great site, lovely and clean, easy to read . Love the "eye" Hope you keep it as straight forward as it is . Really quite refreshing not to have something bouncing around or neon lights flashing at you . Congratulations, Iris

2002-09-08 04:49:00 | Hi honeylaser I was nosey too however I guess you do want people to look at the site . Don't want to be picky or pedantic (but if someone doesn't point it out you may miss it) - on the Our Products page, the "it's" in the first line should not have an apostrophe . Ok, I am picky and pedantic . . . I can't help it . Sorry .

2002-09-09 03:16:00 | It's funny (strange) how computer people consistently use "it's" when they should use "its". It is so bad that when I am about to print documentation files, I put them through a stream editor which does s/it's/its/g on them. The rare times where there should be an apostrophe are less annoying ... For people who wonder why it matters: we old "pedants" have read so much that errors (spelling or puntuation) actually stand out and distract us from the content. ;-)

2002-09-09 04:31:00 | Ok you languophiles - I love correct English grammar and punctuation etc myself, and I thought I had this one right (about the "its"). So thanks for that little gem. However are you certain you're correct? The possessives of nouns are usually apostrophised, eg "Greg's version", or "the dog's bowl", so why not apply the same to "it"? Anyway, perhaps it would sound better to read: "Elite Systems pride ourselves in supplying top quality products to our clients".

2002-09-09 04:39:00 | I know that "its" is correct. Trust me. My grammar is not formally learnt, but I have an idea that because the "it" is a pronoun it does not get an apostrophe to indicate possession. Proper nouns such as "Greg", and "dog" do. "It's" expands to "it is". We won't get into apostrophes used in conjuction with plural nouns. ;-) Pride is a noun, not a verb. :D Why not "We take pride ...". Passive statements are all very well. "We" meaning "us" not "those company drones" would indicate some personal committment.
