I have a Toshiba Tecra 500CDT Laptop with docking station that I am trying to install a CDROM into. I have an ISA Soundblaster model CT2800 card and an old 4x CDROM. Can anyone advise how I setup the IDE port on the SB 16 card? Running Win 98SE. Alternately I could buy a plug and play IDE PCI card I guess, but thats no challenge. |

It will "probably" need to use IRQ 15, which is the standard for IDE2. Otherwise ... there will be a jumper on the board to enable the interface, and probably others to set the IRQ. If you are lucky, the jumpers will be marked. ;-) You should be able to get the driver (a W95 one, at least). |

There's a bit of information around. The CT2800 is an OEM version of the CT2291 SB 16 Value card. Enter "ct2291" in google, and have a look at the first two links you get. |

You will need the driver to use the IDE connection on the sound card. |
