| 78052 | 2002-09-09 06:31:00 | I keep getting messages from Mail Delivery SubSystem, and also from friends that I chat to on MSN, and see in RL also.... They are stuff like Goldfish.eml containing the Exploit-MIME.gen Virus. I've also recieved a few, the subject line is: Fw: goldfish.eml and it contains the text: Hi Dear Check the attach See u With a few other things... The virus is Goldfish.txt.bat and it's the W32/Yaha.g@MM I know this coz Hotmail won't let me download them! I check out the W32/Yaha.g@MM at Norton.com and it came up.. but not the first one. I closed my last hotmail account (Actually, it's still open, just abandoned. Still Gets mail, only maybe 1 or 2 viruses a month now, lots less!) because of this, I try blocking the senders but it doesn't work! What should I do? I've reported it to Abuse@hotmail.com and they didn't do jack, I'll say that much. I sent about 7-8 and finally some lady from abuse replied saying they'd 'Look into the cause, but because the mail didn't origionate from within Hotmail.com, Hotmail.com is not able to do much about' it..... I'm really stuck, I don't wanna change addresses again. This account was fully virus free until about 5-6 days ago! What should I do PLEASE! Chilling_Silence |

| 78055 | 2002-09-09 07:31:00 | You might find that someone with your email addy in their email address is sending out infected emails...... From memory, I think thats how Yaha generates itself. I read somewhere that it also disquises who the sender of the email is (but might be wrong?) I got a spate of them a while ago that originated from a friend in the Netherlands. There is nothing much you can do about it really, apart from making sure all your virus definitions are up to date and you are careful what emails you open up BALDY |
