| 78178 | 2002-09-10 00:49:00 | Hi all Yesterday I was working on a laptop trying to get it to connect to the net. The Laptop and the owners have just moved over here from the states. The modem will dial, but the ISP doesn't pick. They have two laptops different modems, but one can connect the other can't the modem is a ThinkPad Data Fax Modem. The ISP is Xtra the settings are idential for this computer and the other computer that can connect to the net. The Laptop could connect to AOL in the states. Is AOL in New Zealand. Do you think the problem is with the modem, or the ISP?? Thanks all. will accept any suggestions. Just ask for more info if you need it I will see if I can give it to you Cheers :) |

The "Country Selection" window enables you to change the country name to that of the country in which you are actually going to use the ThinkPad modem telephony function in. Click on ThinkPad Modem in your operating system; then click on Country Selection. Confirm whether the selection matches the country name in the Dialing Properties listing (for Windows 98 and Windows 95). HTH |
