| 78566 | 2002-09-12 11:34:00 | Wouldnt bet on it being the modem, chances are high its a mechanical problem. 2 wire vs 3 wire or similar, complicated by a mismatched cord. If the modems are changed, and are different models, be sure to get the correct drivers and install them. Get the drivers first, because if they are winmodems you will possibly be unable to connect until they are loaded. |

| 78567 | 2002-09-13 09:49:00 | Hi,try checking the dial up settings.You will probably find that the modem that won't dial out has the *52(for disabling call waiting ) programmed in.It may not show it on the dial up as it may be set to do it automatically from within the modem properties. | 78568 | 2002-09-13 10:13:00 | Well, I took my box into where I bought the modem and the shop owner was also confused with my problem. So, we hooked it up to his 2nd line and it worked!! no problems. So, I didn't swap the modem. I am more confused than every now, makes me think the line is the problem even though our other computer dials up to the second line no problems! Peter, I checked the dialing properties and it is definitely dialing 0867...aso, and nothing else in front like *52. I'm stumped. |
