2002-09-11 22:46:00 | Duh, possibly something quite dopey here. It used to now all I've got is couple of program files that open in Notepad when I click on them. Like they don't seem to be 'executable'. They're in C:Program Files/Lavasoft in Explorer but won't start. Win98se. Like duh! (Isn't any icon for Dunce either)

2002-09-12 00:47:00 | ?Hey mark, Is there anywhere on that program that gives a list of known domains for advetisers? I can't be bothered with the program on my 'doze slug, but if i could get a list of common advertisers, i could write a host file to block them.

2002-09-12 01:14:00 | Yeah if you go into customise it gives the "known list" of addresses but I've never fiddled with that . Sorry not much help but Yes it does seem to have what you're looking for . Have to ask generally on that . I think it's a handy prog but I think you can also do e'thing it does manually . Have a :) day unlike the horrible cold squally weather we've got .

2002-09-12 01:36:00 | it's lovely and warm here in sunny christchurch... i've even been outside! Anyway, i'm putting together a list of known pop-up add domains, and if you could send me your list, i would appreciate it. pugwash@ihug.co.nz is my disposible address my list just begun, once it's a bit bigger i'm going to make it available for those who want their computers to ignore request for adds. So far.......... # 0.0.0.0 ad.doubleclick.net 0.0.0.0 referralware.com 0.0.0.0 webtraffictools.com

2002-09-12 01:47:00 | hey i don't actually have a list . I use Opera with their ad blocker running all the time . Would like to be more helpful but . You'll get ticked off by Kerry Dodds (sp?) for blocking doubleclick because this site uses them and they need all the ad . revenue they can get to run this free site . He's the joker seems to run the ad side of this site, as far as I can tell . Gives very reasonable and fair expl . of the necessity of ads . Bruce Buckman gets (understanably) v . steamed up too about people ranting agaisnt the 'evilness' of advertising . PC World is an excellent magazine . Campbell's Minestrone is very good for an easy fast economical meal . Do dogs understand the concept of 'holiday'? LOL . Me being self-indulgent . :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

2002-09-12 01:56:00 | not sure how this relates to adaware but if you are making an ad blocking list then it would be far easier to get one of the ready made ones. | tweak'e (174) | |
2002-09-12 02:01:00 | your right! ive just commented out the double click one so the host file ignores that entry. I had a big red banner at the top of the "f1" page, and that wont pay the bills..... unfortunatly that means the kazaa pop ups have content again :(, OK so that one doesnt stay on the list, but i'm keen on anymore, as i want to build up a list that blocks all the popups that come with spam, the works.. one understands this is going to be one big ongoing list Ther more dubious the domain, the more i want to know about it. i will place the list on my server, once it is respectably huge, so people can paste it into host file entrys. If i'm reinventing the wheel here, let me know
