| 78605 | 2002-09-11 21:44:00 | Two days ago I installed Cyberscrub to tidy up hard drive space. It did such a good job, now there is no System Restore date before that. I have uninstalled the programme (too vicious for me) but now "Winservs.exe" has appeared on my start up list. I cannot remove it because it says "cannot delete as windows is using it". Since then I have had an enormous increase in pop-ups, could that be related? I operate with Win ME. Any advice, please? |

Try Ad-Aware, as it'll be easiest, but otherwise, you may need to boot into safe mode and delete it. If its still in use, you'll need to boot into DOS (Scary... :p) and delete it from in there, remembering that in dos, replace names longer than 8 letters with the first six followed by ~1, so Program Files becomes Progra~1 Chilling_Silence BTW, Haven't we done this but with some sort of a mpg or avi file? |
