| 78463 | 2002-09-11 08:37:00 | I cannot get my power management settings to automatically close down so in "playing around"with the options for Power Schemes in the hope that that might remedy the problem, I accidentally deleted 2 of the 3 options. My computer was set on the Home Office/ Desk option. Now I have no options only the "Always On " Setting. How can I retrieve these deleted options. They didn't go to the Recycle Bin so are they still somewhere in the system ? I am operating W98SE | willbry (1555) | ||
| 78464 | 2002-09-11 09:13:00 | Just create new options Decide on your system, monitor, and HDD times, as per the drop down menus, and then press "save as"...... ta dah! instant new options! ( call them something imaginative, go on!) Chris. |

The problem lies with the Power Scheme itself in the upper section of the window. I used to have 3 options here. Now I have only one - "Always On". The problem is how to restore the other options into this top drop down menu. I used to have"Home Office/ Desk" but it along with another [ I think itwas "Laptop"] is gone. | willbry (1555) | ||

The "new" scheme will be in the drop down menu for you to select from. The values of the preset ones are: >Portable/Laptop= system standby: 15mins, monitor: 20, HDD: 30 >Home/Office Desk= System standby: 20, Monitor: 15, HDD: 30 of course you can make ones which are whatevr you like.......... |
