Have you got loads of RAM in your machine? WinME can run into problems trying to recognise this. Take a look at this support article - hopefully it will help. Post again if this isnt the problem.

78422 2002-09-11 09:26:00 Hi Madzen,
Given the specs supplied, there only remains the amount of RAM installed and how many startup programs are you running( a quick check is to Start\run \enter msconfig\ Enter\ press Startup tab) Check these out and post back.
I presume these are "Windows" games not old DOS games?

Can't understand your last sentence?

78427 2002-09-11 13:59:00 no it didn't work in safe mode. but it is fixed now. I managed to get on-line via the links in my favorites folder and did a on-line virus scan picked up [Worm.Stator.A , JS.Trojan.Seeker.A, and Win32 virus.] I don't know how long these had been there doing their thing, but now all seen to be good. from now don't doing regular virus scan. by the way i love the quick responses its good not to wait forever for an replie. madzen (1845)
78428 2002-09-12 01:52:00 What a wicked virus & I'm glad you got it sorted. Explains a few things as I was scratching my head as to why you would get conv memory problems in a Windows environment when you werent even attempting to run DOS programs.

Its good that you have posted the fix as it may help someone else who gets strange errors like this in the future. :-)

cheers
Parry
