78285 2002-09-10 18:20:00 iight, heres my problem. I hear my hardware through my speakers! It's quite annoying!!!!!!! I hear my HD spinning, i hear my cd spin, i hear weird noises even when i move my mouse!!!!!!! this happened in win 98, 2000, and XP! Do i have a bad sound card? Its a Legacy Pro. Thanks jwil (1837)
78286 2002-09-11 03:45:00 Some things you can try:

1) open up your volume control program, click Options, Properties, select Recording and click on OK. Check that the sliders are at minimum.

1a) If you have any input cables connected to the sound card remove them when not in use. ( I used to have a TV Card plugged into my sound card and this picked up the mouse being moved).

2) Move the card to the slot furtherest away from anything else.

78287 2002-09-11 05:25:00 Hehe, that could be kinda kewl, to show off to your mates, but when you're home alone, that could become very annoying very quickly! Chilling_Silence (9)
78288 2002-09-11 06:11:00 Have you got a microphone sitting on the cabinet? Or near it? If so, the system is doing what it should do. :D Turn the microphone slider to zero, or use the mute). Graham L (2)
78289 2002-09-11 08:57:00 I used to get a strange buzzing noise out of the speakers as I moved my mouse around. I finally found it to be caused by the mouse cable running next to the amplifier of my speakers.

I opened the speakers, and placed some tin-foil around the amp circuitry, and soldered it to the ground connection - problem solved!!

If this is the case as your problem and seems a little drastic, try swapping your speakers around, so the one with the amp in is as far away from the pc as possible. (you will be able to tell which has the amp, as it will be much heavier, and take the cable input from the PC)
