78884 2002-09-12 10:38:00 You may need to change the file association with the image type eg .bmp, .jpg back to whatever program (eg Photoshop) you used to open the picture with before.

Check out this FAQ (pressf1.co.nz) on changing file associations

78886 2002-09-12 10:40:00 You will probably find that the pictures/images have been taken over by Fireworks. Go to a file that contains an image and right click on it. It should say "Opens with: " and then say what program is used. Click on "Change" and this will open a window with a list of programs.

From here you should be able to make a global change so that the program you choose will open all the files of this type. Make sure you select the right program before making a global change by just testing it on the selected file.

78887 2002-09-20 21:08:00 Thanks for the help. I tried it but it didn't do it right.

Before fireworks the icons looked different and I can't remember what the pictures looked like when opened ie the gifs may have opened through iexlorer.

Thanks

78888 2002-09-20 21:10:00 I did the open with stuff and it opens the files through a graphics program (which I don't want it to). How do I change it back? It doesn't allow the "open with" now.

Thanks

78889 2002-09-20 21:52:00 Heya,

I am sure that whatever program you use to open/view image files has on option where you can simply associate all file types with a *.jpg *.bmp *.gif *.tif etc. to the program. Have a browse through the options on whatever program and see if you can find that or something similar to it.

78890 2002-09-20 23:56:00 When you right-click the file, hold down SHIFT to force Open With... into the pop-up menu. antmannz (28)
