| 78812 | 2002-09-12 08:40:00 | Having installed the VirusScan V6 (won in the PC World draw!) my PentiumIII 600MHz 128RAM now takes >20 minutes to load Windows 98 2nd edition at startup(previously about 2 minutes), and is also crashing MS Office programs. Any ideas why, and what to do about it (short of uninstalling VirusScan)? I'm reluctant to do the latter as I had the same problem with V3, which I could only clear completely by reformatting my hard disk. Is the moral not to accept software from well-meaning strangers? |

| 78814 | 2002-09-12 09:03:00 | I use AVG on my XP & coincidentally it takes 23 minutes to do a full scan. This happens every evening at 8:00pm. Is it possible your m/c is doing a scan at startup & slowing things down? Is this possible Goddie?? Poppa John Ps. I can still use the m/c for other things but it runs noticeably slower whilst scanning. P J |
