78755 2002-09-12 03:48:00 I often read about people saying that their download speed is this and that figure. I see when I download say an update on my virus checker AVG that it gives me an average figure of around 4.0kBytes. Is there any way of knowing what the speed of incoming and out going email travels at?.
Thanks to all those who replied to my query about the msconfig. I tried all suggestions but still have two sets of quite a few in the start-up section. Not to worry the beast is going ok and I know what was meant by if it aint broke don't fix it, I have done a few hard drive formats too.

78756 2002-09-12 04:13:00 Have a look on the second page of the FAQs and there's one there about download speeds might give you a bit of an insight.

(Havn't figured out how to make the link for threads/FAQs yet.)

78757 2002-09-12 04:15:00 When I updated AVG yesterday, my speed was about 4.7 - seems about normal, but if it starts dropping down to about 2 or 3 when D/L anything, first I try "refreshing" & if this doesn't help, try again later.
Bye
