78861	2002-09-16 02:31:00	ok...ok...the only site Ive ever had a problem with is the Bank site...now that the MTU is set at 1250 my success rate of entry is almost zero..I will reset it to 1450 which is where it was set ...and I could at that time do transactions...20% of the time...What has me puzzled is...If I cant get in on my PC I can go to one of our other PC,s and get in no problem...tho not always...so whats up?...I accept that the Banks settings are having an adverse affect on my gaining entry....but also there must be something at this end I can check to make sure its all configured right... What about the article that said you actually have to go into your registry?..that Dr TCP wont work with W2K ? and...... ummmm....Im a her not a him.. :)	Blako (1861)

Not a whole lot. Normally, you could try pinging with the -f (don't fragment) and -l (size of packet) settings, but if the banks block all ICMP, it's not going to work. I would stick to the default TCP/IP settings, ie. an MTU of 1500 bytes, path MTU discovery turned on, blackhole router detection turned on, etc. and leave the banks to play with the Intranet of their own creation. > and...... ummmm....Im a her not a him.. :) My apologies, it's kind of hard to tell on the Internet ;) -- Juha	juha (761)

I will set the TCP back at default and at least acheive a 20% success rate...and will get on the Banks back about it... and...... ummmm....Im a her not a him..
