1312925 2012-11-16 21:07:00 Been trying to find out what broadband speeds we should expect in rural Waikato.

We are about 2k's from the exchange on copper wire.

Have an ADSL connection and VOIP service.

On-line tests give me an average of:

Downloads 15.94
Uploads: 1.05

Is that about normal or low in comparison with other areas

Thnaks!

1312926 2012-11-16 21:12:00 Nope that seems fine.
I'm physically ~300m from mine but I only sync just over 9mbps because of the way the cable is routed down the street, halfway back up, back down and around to finally arrive at my house....

Fibre is close to being availble in our area, but the pricing forecast could be too expensive for us

1312928 2012-11-16 22:28:00 The pricing should by and large be the same as most current broadband plans, unless you're on one of the smaller <10GB ones, in which case you probably don't use the internet enough to notice many benefits of Fibre... Chilling_Silence (9)
