Are they nuts?
I've been viewing and paying bills online for years. And sending quotes and bills to customers.

Without them, what do we need them for?

And they even admit it themselves!

"six years after NZ Post pulled the plug on its eBill service which also let people view and pay bills online, because of a lack of uptake"

Smells like some MBA dickhead!

How is that different from registering with a service provider (lilke your power company) with your email address and getting your invoice from them monthly in your Inbox (and paying it via DD or online through your bank?

Does NZ Post not understand this new-fangled intertubes thingy?

1289113 2012-07-18 03:47:00 Mostly of benefit to the providers than the consumers, as the providers don't have to individually provide the authentication, storage and hosting of documents. Means NZ Post has that worry.

The only benefit to consumers is if it give a one stop shop for payment (either by feeding bill payments to your bank) or by taking Credit card payments, and submitting those to your provider directly..
