| 1289582 | 2012-07-20 09:35:00 | In this country we are not allowed to defend our family or property. In USA its written in the Constitution that people are allowed to bare arms to defend themselves. Here you are supposed to allow yourself to be half killed without lifting a finger. Pathetic!! | mzee (3324) | ||
| 1289583 | 2012-07-20 10:01:00 | Personally I was horrified to see the old coot firing off so many shots so carelessly in a crowded place. Did he once stop to assesss where the shot would go if it missed of passed right through the target? On the other hand, I also got some glee in seeing the thieving turds scrambling so desperately for safety that they couldn't even stay on their feet. Everyone needs to appreciate the threat and danger in presenting a gun to another person, both the robber and the defender, and the unlucky witnesses in the vicinity of these nutters. Guns are serious sh@#, even little pop guns like was seen here. |

Surely you could call the police.! |

| 1289586 | 2012-07-21 01:14:00 | I would say that robbers in this situation can be likened to bullies. They go in expecting to have the upper hand because they have a weapon. Suddenly they find that they are confronted by someone fighting back and they do not know how to handle it. Bullies are cowards so they run. | Bobh (5192) | ||

I don't want to be too picky, but you are allowed to bare arms in NZ anyplace and anytime you want, ih fact our Maori fellows have been known to bare bums as well . It is bearing (carrying) weapons (usually firearms) that is banned, so go ahead, roll up your sleeves and get to it! The Nat Party conference is on at Sky City right now (how convenient!) so there's any number of sitting targets . :D Cheers Billy 8-{) :devil |

In NZ the crooks don't have this worry. In Australia private security guard's can carry guns and shoot people. Another good reason to move to OZ. |
