| 1313185 | 2012-11-18 06:45:00 | I have a 2tb HDD most of which is going to waste. Instead of buying Tivo or Mysky recorders (or the like) I wonder if there might be a TV capture card that I can use to download TV programs directly to the PC. I would like to capture Sky and also the newer digital channels from Freeview. Can anyone recomend a card that does such a thing, analogue and digital? |

Sky is not the easiest because you still have to use the set top box and connect it to video in on a capture card(most tuners have this functionality but it's pay to check) so you either have to leave it tuned to the right channel or get a tuner card with an IR blaster that can control the sky box. If you want to record TV to keep, or wish to edit the files it's a good way to go, if you just want to record TV to watch later TiVo is still better IMHO (I have both a TiVo and a tuner card) and if you can get it on special not much more than a tuner card, it won't record sky of course. | dugimodo (138) | ||
