2012-11-15 20:30:00 | I have been having a lot of interference between my telecom technicolor TG582N wifi router and my Uniden DECT cordless phones. Having researched this problem on Google it is obvious it is a well known problem. I haven't found a satisfactory solution so wonder if anyone here has got it sorted out. | John_Robb (9061) | |
2012-11-15 20:34:00 | Have you tried to change the router channels? | bk T (215) | |
2012-11-15 20:36:00 | yes I did try that but must have done something wrong as the router would not connect to the internet | John_Robb (9061) | |
2012-11-15 20:38:00 | Doesnt sound like a wireless prob if the router cant even connect to the internet. It sounds like a username / password prob. If it needs it. So it can connect | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2012-11-15 20:42:00 | If you're not sure what you've done, simplest way is to reset it to factory defaults by pressing the pinhole with a paper clip (or something like that) for about 10 seconds. It will reboot and you can go all over again. You don't need to enter the password and username.

2012-11-15 21:03:00 | But DECT phones are 1.8GHz, therefore are a long way from wifi 2.4GHz. Bit puzzling how they could clash. Something funny is going on. | linw (53) | |
2012-11-15 21:10:00 | Is it a DECT or WDECT cordless phone. which are 2.4. The Uniden cordless I had was 2.4 ghz. And it says Wdect on it | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2012-11-15 21:13:00 | Simple test, turn the router off. Interference stops? It's a router problem (Perhaps there is some sort of interference from the antennae causing some random harmonic on the 1.8GHz band?) if not then it's an outside source. We have a DECT handset, one day I picket it up to make a call when halfway through it was overcome by static and a very loud squealing noise. It was fixed by restarting the phone and base station. Happened several times that day but only in certain areas. If you stayed in one spot for example I didn't happen. I never knew what caused it.
