1289294 2012-07-18 23:34:00 I for one am looking forward to this, I am still very happy with Windows 7 so it will have be pretty hard to beat, but at least the price is right...

Microsoft are claiming that upgrades Windows 8 Pro from XP/Vista/7 will be $39 from release until Jan 1st 2013.

I am a little concerned about the 'app store' style market they are talking about though - they best not start locking down what software can be used!

1289295 2012-07-18 23:35:00 I'll most likely dual-boot with Windows 7, just to try the finished OS out. (Pretty sure I'll get it for free being a CompSci student. :p) pcuser42 (130)

Yep, definitely dual-boot for a start!

1289297 2012-07-19 01:53:00 Dual boot may not be such a bad idea. I can see a learning curve coming up as Windows 8 is quite a bit different from other Windows versions. Bobh (5192)
