| 79044 | 2002-09-13 03:36:00 | I use Outlook Express. Every so often there is an automatic connection with my ISP as if the command to do so is generated by time or the arrival of a new message. this occurs even if Outlook Express is open or not. Help please. | Minto (1869) | ||

Next time you see it doing that, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up Task Manager aqnd look for something called msimin or something similar. That's Outlook Express running coz it hasn't been closed properly. it does it to me sometimes, preventing me from closing MSN Messenger. If you've got MSN Messenger, right-Click and close it on the icon on the bottom right of the screen. It might prevent you, saying it's features are still in use. If that comes up, OeX is still running! you can select it in Task Manager and press Alt+E or click on End Task That'll close it and it shouldn't dial-up anymore! Cheers Chilling_Silence |
