| 79060 | 2002-09-13 03:22:00 | Desuperpollicate To give the "thumbs down" :( This word was brought to mind by the recent upsurge in problems with MicroSoft Service packs, however it applies equally well to EMAILS TYPED IN CAPS, TranzRail's profit announcement, September 11, the World Wide Wait, Air New Zealand's monodimensional visual checking policies, Porn spam to kids email addresses, laughable waterproofing of modern buildings, parents who let their kids stay out late drinking, designer caesarians, Nigerian scams, people who sign themselves :*), people stupid and/or greedy enough to fall for Nigerian scams, petrol price rises before the more expensive product even arrives, road rage by people who haven't got a life and try to take it out on others, Fonterra's gross excesses, graffitti, people who care more about dotterels than other people, likewise for swallows and rats, Press F1 contributors who deliver uncalled for rants.....oops :8} Pause to extract foot (keyboard?) from mouth :D Cheers Billy 8-{) Enter your personal desuperpollications here: |

| 79062 | 2002-09-13 04:25:00 | I'm sorry, not a bad word, but this is better: defenstrate. It means to toss something out of a window. Used in a sentence: The urge to defenestrate your PC occurs most often when it bluescreens at an inopportune moment. I suspect it originated in the South African police force when they would defenestrate dark-skinned detainees, as it was an alternative to "shot while trying to escape". Either that or the Gestapo invented it, but they spoke German as a rule, so that is less likely. robo. |

| 79066 | 2002-09-13 05:04:00 | robo, defenestration started a bit earlier: the first "defenestration of Prague was in 1419, when the Hussites threw 7 members of the town council out the window. It got worse at the sudden stop at the bottom: there were more Hussites below holding pikes for them to land on. The second Defenestration of Prague was in 1618 (see, it was habit-forming) when various citizens taught a few Austrians to fly. They were luckier, they landed on straw and other agricultural debris commonly found in cities with lots of horses. |

| 79069 | 2002-09-13 05:41:00 | The thesis time frame is always: "It will take three months". In fact, the first 90% takes the first 90% of the time. The last 10% takes the other 90% of the time. I'ts a wonder more thesis writers don't defenestrate themselves. | Graham L (2) | ||
