79424 2002-09-14 05:27:00 Hi. I'm using Win98SE and IE6.0.

I have a homestay student from Korea who wants to check her emails from friends and family back home using Yahoo Korea. My original IE was 4.0 and was upgraded from one of the latest PCWorld's CDs. I downloaded the Korean language extension from Microsoft this morning and added Korean to Tools - Internet Options- Language. When I accessed Yahoo Korea, all I got was hieroglyphics (definitely not Korean).

I'm not doing something right so can someone please help. :-(

Thanks

I'm not too sure about this, but you may need to install a Unicode or International font so that the correct characters will display. I thought they would have come through the Korean language extension, but if not I think there's Unicode fonts available on the Microsoft Office CD (If you've got a version of MS Office available).

If not, then I'm sure others here will be able to help :)

Mike.

79426 2002-09-14 08:21:00 Not sure if this helps but when you're in the korean site. You need to go View-->Encoding-->More to select the language. Sant (681)

79428 2002-09-15 01:55:00 Hi All,

I have fixed the troubles I was having. :^O

The trouble I was having was actually trying to download the Korean Text Display Support software and when I clicked on Download it said that it couldn't find it.

So I finally downloaded and installed IE6 Service Pack 1 - took a while. When I accessed the Korean Yahoo site the Korean Text Display software asked where I wanted to get it from (the only option was North America), selected it, it then downloaded and installed and then, hey presto, the Korean site was presented correctly.

Happiness all round. :-)

Thanks for trying though.
