79359 2002-09-14 01:38:00 I have a 1ghz celeron which isn't booting properly. The IDE drives are set to autodetect but it seems to freeze halfway through detection. When you press any key, it will continue with the booting process correctly. When it is set to boot from the floppy, I get a floppy drive fail error. When I set it to boot from HDD 0, it freezes as I have described above. To me, this sounds like a hardware problem maybe with the bios. Any ideas? shaawing (1863)
79360 2002-09-14 02:08:00 sounds like you may have a dead floppy. disable it in bios and unplug the floppy lead. see if it will boot from the HD without freezeing. tweak'e (174)
79361 2002-09-14 13:46:00 no thats good because computer is still under warranty so I just wanted to make sure it would be a hardware prob. thanks. shaawing (1863)
79362 2002-09-14 21:42:00 Try slowing down the ram timing, in the bios. wuppo (41)
