79307 2002-09-13 13:16:00 I think I have a easy problem to solve but I can't seem to work out how to do it so I would like your help on it .
I have just up graded my whole system (all but the monitor )
I have a atx case with auto shutdown but when I shut down the system the monitor only goes into standby mode and after a few minutes it starts to make a high pitch squeal.
The power for the monitor is through the case power supply , not separate. The monitor is a ViewSonic E651.Any help would be greatly appreciated

Do you know if your monitor is Energy Star compliant?

Did you used to just leave the monitor switched on, or did you turn it off? If you've upgraded from an AT power supply, it would have turned the monitor fully off, whereas ATX power supplies don't turn the monitor off, they keep supplying power to them, so if the screen doesn't like being in standby mode this could cause some problems (like yours).
