my problem is that the slave computer which is win 98 cannot access their e-mail or use the printer
i have to use my computer to get their e-mail and then send it to their hotmail and i also have to get their documents they are working on and print them out from my computer which is a real pain
any help would be great thanks

79393 2002-09-14 05:24:00 have you configured the email on the win98 machine to use the proxy?

why use proxy when XPpro has ICS? with ics theres no need to configure the slave machine programs.

79394 2002-09-14 05:26:00 Hi

Look in windows help on the XP computer about Internet Connection Sharing and File and Printer Sharing. There are several set-up Wizards there to guide you.

I used Proxy Plus when my main PC was Win 98, but now I use XP Pro, I found that the system of networking the two works better using the built in processes, and have no need for Proxy Plus.

Pop your XP Disk in the Win 98 machine after setting up the XP machine, and follow the prompts.
