I have a 1ghz celeron which isn't booting properly. The IDE drives are set to autodetect but it seems to freeze halfway through detection. When you press any key, it will continue with the booting process correctly. When it is set to boot from the floppy, I get a floppy drive fail error. When I set it to boot from HDD 0, it freezes as I have described above. To me, this sounds like a hardware problem maybe with the bios. Any ideas? |

sounds like you may have a dead floppy. disable it in bios and unplug the floppy lead. see if it will boot from the HD without freezeing. |

Try slowing down the ram timing, in the bios. |
