| 79678 | 2002-09-15 09:03:00 | Thats a good question....webcams need a high speed data interface, so serial RS232 is out. Never seen a parallel port one either. Laptops seldom have video capture... Webcams have only risen to fame since USB, probably because without it you cant have one? |

| 79679 | 2002-09-15 09:26:00 | All? the first webcams were parallel port, but they were oh so slow, only 2 or 3 frames per sec at best , but they did work. I dont think you would be able to get one now, except maybe second hand. I use a video camera and a video capture card, somewhat more versatile than a webcam, but presume you wouldnt be able to fit a capture card in a laptop. |
