2002-09-16 12:45:00 | Could it be something to do with "Telecom likes to screw ISP's but not xtra with there 0867 number" yet xtra has more internet people than anyone else if anybody is chokeing phone lines it is the xtra customers. I somethimes seem to be cut of my "paradise" connection sometimes, Other times I log on and nothing happens, sometimes I log off and back on sometimes it works sometimes not,

2002-09-17 02:02:00 | I'd still love to know if paradise, or clearISP customers on telstra-clear phone lines get ½ the problems that those who have telecom as thier telco get. Do i hear a survey coming on? The only person i know in that situation still has trouble working out why she cant use the phone while on the internet, and "what is that funny screaming noize on the phone line?".. I'm not asking her! I have a telstra phone line that i use for testing computers, it doesn't happen that much, but when i do use dialup i NEVER get any of the problems that seem to plague others.

A lot could be learned from photos of their sensative systems. And yes if a triple scoop icecream was involved then I don't blame them either. Just because they don't show everything to everyone don't start screaming coverup and conspiracy just accept it as standard business practise. I am sure all the other major ISP's will have similar restrictions in place. | dipstick01 (445) | ||
2002-09-17 03:29:00 | orcon offer this very pretty picture of some of their server room here (orcon.net.nz) Has all triplescoop icecream has been removed with clever photoshopping?

2002-09-17 03:51:00 | Apparently each flavor has a precise function in filtering certain circuits. lime is good for a local filter, chocolate works well with the american circuits, strawberry is good for filtering porn. hence the triple scoop approach. Seriously though, telecom have put bragged online about the southerncross cable, the cables linking south and north island, and in short provided a precise online guide for terrorists and saboteurs. Apart from giving away the icecream secrets, theres not much security risk to be had by letting people photograph a server room after providing a full guide to all the networks unguarded physical venerability!
