| 80446 | 2002-09-17 11:03:00 | On my Windows XP PC right now I have no password set so that it'll log on to my home network without me having to type in a password. this should also mean that the annoying password expiry date thing also gets disable, but it doesn't. Now whenever 30 days is close the little warning window pops up. is there anyway to disable it if it shouldn't already be disabled. Thx |

If you don't activate it, your computer will lock up and you will need a password to boot into safe mode. I suggest that you activate win XP by clicking on the icon and following the wizard, and the next time you're on the internet it will call microsoft and let them know that your copy of XP is being used. There is more to this than just letting you use your computer, and you should look at www.microsoft.com for more info. Also look at the service pack if you haven't already. Good luck |
