| 80347 | 2002-09-17 10:04:00 | On my Windows XP PC right now I have no password set so that it'll log on to my home network without me having to type in a password. this should also mean that the annoying password expiry date thing also gets disable, but it doesn't. Now whenever 30 days is close the little warning window pops up. is there anyway to disable it if it shouldn't already be disabled. Thx |

| 80348 | 2002-09-17 22:23:00 | Chao, this is from the Win XP Help & Support program - it doesn't quite tell you how to turn it off, but you just set the expiry to 0 days so that it never expires. Maximum password ageComputer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Account Policies\Password Policy Description Determines the period of time (in days) that a password can be used before the system requires the user to change it. You can set passwords to expire after a number of days between 1 and 999, or you can specify that passwords never expire by setting the number of days to 0. Default: 42. For more information, see: Security Configuration Manager Tools I just opened Help & Support from the Start Menu, and searched for "password expire", and this was one of the results in the lefthand window.
