80296 2002-09-17 21:37:00 You can't play offline, but in the spirit of "board games", PlaySite (http://www.playsite.com) is one of the best out there. I can't handle not getting my regular dose of Scrabble or TangleWord :D

NZ Chess (ourworld.compuserve.com) is the only 1/2 decent NZ Chess orientated site out there.

80297 2002-09-17 22:57:00 Dear Parry,

Thanks for that insight! I will intend to at least keep an open mind about other chess games whether free or not. Though the downfall for the 'really good' ones, (to try) will either give you a 'time frame' either at least 10mins of play.

Can anyone beat the computer within 10 mins? Not me?

I used to have a chess game which used to come with windows, but its over here???? and i too have no trace of it...

So where will i go to find extreme chess? Dick Smith? Noel Leeming? or somewhere at the Big Apple?

80298 2002-09-17 22:58:00 Dear Gorela,

The thought of running Linux is abit off my end although when I play on Windows based platforms, it still allows me to keep my pants on.

80300 2002-09-17 22:59:00 Dear tones_malones,

Thanks for that bit of info, though playing online isn't my cup of tea, and the phone line has to allow for somepeople to make contact with me.

80301 2002-09-17 22:59:00 Dear Godfathe,
Tried that search string... same old same old.....And the links still live and are available to download. Indeed that it is true that there is no such thing is a free lunch; unless you are willing to make it yourself.
