| 80254 | 2002-09-17 06:15:00 | I loaded it, and all is sweet. On 3 separate and different computers. I know of others who had problems before the pack, and all were corrected by installing SP1. There are serious security issues fixed by the pack. |

| 80256 | 2002-09-17 06:59:00 | Some people have had small difficulties with program compatibility with some apps after installing SP-1, but most of these are now solved, and were for programs most people won't have on a home PC. Reasons why? Fixes some very serious security problems that could allow a hacker to delete files on your computer just by having you click on a particular web link. Definitely get it. G P |

Contact Microsoft in New Zealand (I know they have an Auckland office - they might have a Wellington office as well) and they'll send you a CD with SP1 on it, with some extras too apparently, at a small cost (I heard it was around $10-$20 or something... I'm not sure). > or would pc world put the full installation on cd There was some talk here a week or so ago about the possibility of Sp1 being included on a CD, but I haven't heard anything more about it lately. I think they were trying, but MS aren't that keen on it or something. Mike. |
