80768 2002-09-19 08:04:00 oh dear ... too much to list, but talking of parodies - we must have just about every South Park parody there is.

And although it's not a parody, my fav would have to be Mr Hanky and Kenny - The Most Offensive Song Ever. You can even play it with ya Granny around, but it's funnier (depending on your sense of humour - mines rather warped) when you know Kenny's words.

Makes me laugh just thinking about it. :^O :^O :^O :^O

Thats real music Poppa.... have you ever listened to that Techno Crap. They used to rubbish Rap music. But at least the Rap musicians were using thier own voices. The tea cosy set today (Techno Heads) think shoving a record on a turntable and playing silly buggers with it is cool and original music. Well its not. Its crap. C - R - A - P

I'm glad you like it :D

The oxford dictionary defines music as a) an art form consisting of sequences of sounds organised melodically, harmonically and rythmically. or b) any sequence of sounds perceived as pleasing or harmonious.

So there you have it - as music is defined by perception, it is subjective and individualised as to what music is to each person.

I love the thump-thump-thump of techno, the bass beats send shivers up my spine, and the electronic sounds echo inside my head. hip-hop rocks as it has wicked rhythm, and a real pacifica sound (at least most of the stuff I like does).

So, each to their own. I personally think Pink Floyd sucks. I was given one of their albums once (the one with the cool flashing light) - I chucked it in the bin - ha ha :D

Noone will ever agree as to music or any of the arts as they are too subjective, and it is useless to argue. My tastes have changed damatically over the years as my environment has influenced me. i guess that they will change some more as time goes on. I can't really see my self at 50 driving the equivalent of a BMW with tints, lowered and allows/spoiler etc, with four 15" subs in the boot playing crystal method at full volume, but that is kind of what I do now (Minus the BMW etc :))

80773 2002-09-19 12:08:00 AHHHHHH the dulcet tones of Pink Floyd ( I sort of remember the concert ) and basically any music they play on Hauraki.

One I'm thrashing at the moment is Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds musical. That is still one of the all time classic sets to wind up loud.
I caught my neigbours listening to it this morning over the fence lol.

I'm also thrashing Midge Marsden ( shameless plug time ) as we have him as a guest streamer on tuesday the 24th at 8pm in NZChat (http://www.nzchat.net.nz) We also might have a few other local New Zealand icons lined up soon too for guest spots. :):):)

80775 2002-09-19 12:14:00 a bit of turntables and silly buggers is good...... in HEAVY METAL, not in techno.
