| 81493 | 2002-09-20 10:51:00 | Hi, I got an internal 33.6 installed as standard modem. Everytime when the phone ring ring twice, my modem answer it automatically and it beeps crazily and continuously. And it's annoying even I pick up the phone b4 the modem, it will answer as well. So it goes beeppppppppppppp. So I had to either ring back the person who rang me or wait for the call again. the way I prevent this is make sure the phone line is not connect to modem when not in use. Why has my modem behave this way? it never happen like this b4. Any way to correct it? I had the modem and dial up networking set to default. Am using WinME and one more thing... because my one is a fax modem ( well obvious) so can anyone recommend a software to fax using my modem? Thank you very much! |

| 81494 | 2002-09-20 10:58:00 | It seems like (if you aren't using any 3rd party fax software) that microsoft's fax software is coming into play. Can't remember exactly for ME but try programs-accessories-communications (or fax or something like that) and go to the MS fax program and switch answer all incoming calls. Worth a crack Nigel. |
