| 81297 | 2002-09-21 11:14:00 | if your using OE for news groups, i strongly suggest you give up! Download this program instaed: Xnews from http://xnews.newsguy.com Lots of binaries on news groups use y-enc encoding, which removes a huge amount of overheads, but OE isn't up with the play yet. |

| 81299 | 2002-09-21 11:28:00 | True mike, But OE is a horrible news reader for binaries.. Fixing it with y poxy is as hard as installing a descent newsreader. If you just want to pick up all the pictures, and have a look in the folder in the morning to see what if anything you want to keep, try SBnews robot. Very lite, very tidy. The Y-enc issue forced me to look at the alternatives, and i am so glad that i finally gave up on OE as a newsreader |

| 81300 | 2002-09-21 11:36:00 | Fair enough I guess - I didn't find it that hard to set up y-proxy, just a matter of changing my OE server, and y-proxy is small. But then again I only read a few news groups occasionally - not very often at all, so it's probably not worth looking for a new newsreader Mike. |
