81257 2002-09-20 04:44:00 Heya All,

I have forgotton how to do this :|

My printer is a Hewlett Packard Deskjet 970Cxi (Shouldn't make too much of a difference), and I am attempting to make a border on my pages, and Word decides to chop off the bottom of my page. I am wondering whether I need to fiddle around with the page width and the alignment etc.

Sorry that I forgot :S - Help would be appr.

81258 2002-09-20 04:54:00 you might want to try changing the bottom margin, which can be found under Files > Page setup, on one of the tabs in there you can change the four margins. I don't think you'll be able to make the printer print further down, so it'll be a matter of making the bottom margin bigger.

Thanks

81260 2002-09-20 05:06:00 Its not a printer problem.

You need to go to format - borders and shading - page border, then choose the OPTIONS button and in that page select from "text" instead of from "edge of page"

Non printing borders are always a problem on inkjets as they cannot print close enough to the edges. Borders inserted as drawing objects will print as you can alter them, but as page borders they are unaffected by margin settings. Always visible on-screen, but often print preview will show that they are missing.

81261 2002-09-20 05:31:00 In Word go to the Page Border tab under Format and click on Options. Change the Bottom Margin to a bigger measurement from the edge of the page.

The measurements are in points (pt) but you can enter 2 cm or whatever your bottom margin needs to be from the border.

81264 2002-09-20 05:34:00 Ooops, I opened a dozen thread windows, got distracted for a while doing something else and two replies came in while I was away!

Sorry! :8}
