| 81327 | 2002-09-21 00:21:00 | Not that I'm likely to ever win it. I'm too busy asking questions and when I do see something I think I know the answer too I'm usually too late. But I would agree with the idea of a subscription. If the winner is already subscribed, perhaps it could be held over until it's due. Still reckon this is the best page. Hope you regular troubleshooters are here for a loooooooooong time. Iris |

(that would probably be better promotion for IDG too) i've heard rumours that people from here have socail lives.. (if so stop it now, its not healthy, seek help!) |

| 81332 | 2002-09-21 01:58:00 | We've got some nice goodies from Symantec (2003 versions) coming in October. Susan isn't far off the selection process. It's awful. The people that help on here all deserve something. I do try to spread it around but we have to try and encourage new people as well as make sure the seasoned veterans know we appreciate them. I can go on just numbers of posts, but I can't review every posting made here. If we had more to give away it would help. I am sure we wouldn't have a problem with giving away subs, and making them to friends if the winner has one already. I just thought that sort of thing seemed a bit cheap and cheesy. Even the process of awarding a prize has problems. I have to email the winner before we post it on the site and make sure we can get their address and send it to them. Please understand that we try pretty hard to keep people happy, and I think we do okay most of the time. {and worse - I really hate giving away prizes that I would like to have myself - that's just not fair (like MOHAA a while back)}. robo. |

If you are able to offer someone a prize I would suggest that you email the person saying that they have won and what would they like: the game/Symantec product/what-have-you or would they like a subscription? Not everyone has the specs to play the games or wants to play the ones on offer and may appreciate a sub instead. Those who already have subs can have the choice of the game/utility product if they want it or have their sub extended by one year when it runs out. Maybe the sub could be for either PC World or the Internet Magazine (or whatever it's called - I've forgotten). And if you really want to make them undecided you could even throw a teeshirt into the choice basket. :D That's one way of ensuring happy winners. |

| 81335 | 2002-09-21 09:50:00 | I've one some prize or two and am still around here. :D If I was given the choice between software or a sub. I would probably choose the sub unless the software was something I really really wanted. The sub would cost more for IDG though as Symantec probably don't want to donate magazine subscriptions. |
