81251 2002-09-20 02:23:00 Does anyone know of an alternative to Matt Wrights wwwboard that is easy to configure and maintain?

I help tutor a web-design class, and for one assignment, students have to implement either wwwboard or something similar.
The problem i've got is that most people have trouble configuring it without me basically doing it for them, which helps neither me nor them.

What i'm after is a basic alternative to wwwboard that doesn't use a database and is easy to use from a non-technical standpoint. I've been searching for a while now for an alternative, but i'm not having much luck.

Any assistance appreciated.
chmod 007
chmod007 (1498)

If it's a forum I recommend phpBB (http://www.phpbb.org) but it requires a database. But it is free.

"WWWBoard is a threaded World Wide Web discussion forum and message board, which allows users to post new messages, followup to existing ones and more."

Basically i'm after an easier to configure wwwboard. This part of the paper is pretty trivial, and databases are taught in other papers, so i'm not after a database-based forum.
chmod007 (1498)
81254 2002-09-20 23:12:00 Hi. I can't say whether this one requires a database or not, but download it here nms-cgi.sourceforge.net to take a look. Greg S (201)
81255 2002-09-22 01:18:00 I doubt you'll find a wwwboard that does not use a database, as you need somewhere to store the messages - if youdon't have a database connected, then all you'll have is empty webpages.

It could be possible if they are just kept in text files.
