| 81073 | 2002-09-19 10:54:00 | I've finally gotten around to Format Win95, after a few hours of searching for a tutorial that suited me. Anyway, it's all been going fine and it has finished the formatting as such, but I've come to a point where the instructions say "reboot the system using the boot disk." This meant little to me, everything after it seems very easy so if I pass this hitch it'll be my first format complete..Yay Anyway, any explanation will be appreciated. -Nk. |

| 81074 | 2002-09-19 11:04:00 | leave the boot disk in the (floppy disk) drive and press ctrl-alt-del :) after pc boots put windows cd in cd drive. type f: at the prompt (f being cd drive but it could be another letter depending on partitioning) type dir, this should show you contents of cd drive then type setup. hope that helps :) |

| 81076 | 2002-09-19 11:07:00 | A boot disk lets you boot your computer to DOS when there is no operating system on it. The instructions should have told you to make one *before* you formatted because you need windows to make one. If you didn't make one, find a Windows 9x system (it doesn't matter if its not 95), goto Add/Remove programmes, select the startup disk tab and hit create disk. Then stick the boot disk in the Win95 system and hit reset and it should boot of the floppy. |

| 81077 | 2002-09-19 11:44:00 | Just as I thought I was home free I've hit a problem - It comes up saying Win95 starting for time first time, so I go to get a drink. When I come back it's popped up saying installing files for hardware and any plug and play devices, please insert win95 CD. So I do, but then it says it can't find the file. I don't see why the heck it should be doing this. The file is .dll It has a skip file option, but i doubt that's my best bet. Any help -again- will be appreciated. |
