| 81680 | 2002-09-21 08:48:00 | She has just got it back from the repair man who installed a new hard drive under warranty,20 gig instead of 6,so nice!Tried to install Winzip off cd's and by downloading.Keep getting the message-"Win-zip self extractor header corrupt.Possible cause:bad disk or file transfer error". Tried to install in safe mode as well,no go.Need it to install AVG etc. Also tried to install IE6 instead of the 4 she's got on.That comes up with "system file error.DLL file MSVBVM60 was not found" Have done a search for that one,but not sure what I'm looking to do!Would a refresh help?Although I assume the repair man did that as he has saved stuff in an "Old file" which seems to have double ups in Win Explorer,ie Program files etc.At least I got her back on line with OE and IE. Suggestions please.Win 98. |

| 81681 | 2002-09-21 08:56:00 | OK, I found the file in question in C:/windows/system (i run 98SE) If you can find it in the back ups, move a copy to there, Otherwise you might have to copy it from another machine, along with everything else on the list of lost files |

Just been on the winzip site and they say it could be a virus that makes the self-extractor header corrupt,so will ask my sis to go to Symantec and run a scan.Thanks. |

| 81685 | 2002-09-21 12:03:00 | The MSVBVM60 error can probably be fixed by downloading"VB6 runtimes" and installing them. You should be able to find them easily. The last version I saw were VB6SP4.They are small and very easy to install and will not cause any hassles even if they do not solve the error. Its possible the Win-zip install error may be fixed by installing the runtimes to. |
