81484 2002-09-20 10:55:00 I've got a freind with a couple of curly Word 2000 probs.

1: How do you delete all the comments in a document in one go? Seems impossible...I checked the MS website and Woodys OW but no joy at either of those places. Pain in the ass to delete each one indiviudally.

2: Her autonumbering works ok if you are doing a simple list, but;
if you create an autonumbered list, then press enter and the new (next) number appears automatically (as it should) and then hit the TAB key to indent it to create a sublist - no go. Weird! It used to work, and it makes no difference if it's a new doc or an old one or an emailed one.
Any suggestions?

Thanx for any help

81485 2002-09-20 10:56:00 Yeah ok it's word 2000 (well you would think so but it sure feels like word 200 at times) and if you wanna be picky, yes I did spell friend wrong. falvrez (390)
81486 2002-09-20 11:24:00 For No. 2 try mouse clicking the Increase Indent button to indent the bullet list. Susan B (19)

Q1: Comments
I believe you are right that there isnt an option within Word to delete all comments in one go. You would have to find an addin (code someones written to do this) so try searching on Google etc.

Q2: Numbering
What you want to do here is called Outline Numbering. Select the text that is numbered the from the menu select Format-Bullets & Numbering then the Outline Numbered tab. Select the option that suits you. Now when you indent it will be as per this format.

81488 2002-09-21 00:38:00 Falvrez,

The follwoing macro code should do what you want re the removal of all comments in a word document

Sub DeleteAllComments()
'
' Macro created by Babe Ruth
'
'This Sub procedure deletes all Comments in the active document.
For Each xComment In ActiveDocument.Comments
xComment.Delete
Next xComment
End Sub
Cheers, Babe.

81489 2002-09-21 00:48:00 Well done Babe... and only 3 lines of code! parry (27)
81490 2002-09-21 10:49:00 yeah I'm not sure if that's what I'm after. It's very easy to create sub lists by indenting or simjply selecting the text and hitting the bullet button or going through the menus, but she *used* to do this on the fly with no selecting of text in any way.
I tried the method suggested above but they didn't seem to work either. It *should* be automatic, as it was before....

81491 2002-09-21 10:50:00 Thanks Babe - I naturally expected this to be an option in Word, but never thought of a macro to do it - thanks again. falvrez3 (1965)
81492 2002-09-27 05:35:00 Babe - this worked perfectly - thanks. falvrez (390)
