I'm strictly an IBM big iron man... started as an operator on a 360/40 with 256k memory in a box about the size of a large fridge - that's just the memory, the processor bits were in a box twice the size!. |

I have an IBM system 34 as a garage cupboard, and a Burroughs E8000 as a workshop cupboard. |

In the same computer room (the IBM Development Laboratories in Hampshire, England) there were two 360/65s each with a massive 1mb of memory. The cabinets for these monsters were about 2m high and easily roomy enough to step inside, and it was not unknown for a trainee operator on night shift to be scared out of (usually) her wits by the sound of low moans and scratchings coming from inside the computer. |
