1313494 2012-11-19 21:03:00 Since Win8 hasn't got a built-in imaging utility like Win7's, what do you use to create a reliable backup copy of your system disk? bk T (215)
1313495 2012-11-19 21:27:00 I think it does have Windows 7's backup utility built in. pcuser42 (130)
1313496 2012-11-19 21:48:00 Windows 8 has the same system imaging as Windows 7. :)

Open the control Panel - Windows 7 File Recovery. The same imaging options as per W7 will appear.

Two ways to get to the control Panel.

1. Bottom Right, open Charms bar/settings/Control Panel
2. Open Charms Bar / Search, type in Control Panel / It will show on the left, click it to open.

1313498 2012-11-20 01:12:00 Looks like you can also create an image, if you decide to refresh Win8 (howto.cnet.com).

I tried the reset option the other day. Worked pretty good. Thought it'd format the whole hdd lol but no it only formatted C. And restored Win8. Altho, you need the DVD for this too
