| 1289938 | 2012-07-21 20:23:00 | That is what happens when you have an official language. I would not be surprised to see them insist that it all be repeated in sign language as well. There are a lot of court officials/translators making even more money out of this. | CliveM (6007) | ||

I know for a fact that all existing Court staff have to do this - there are no new court officials/translators involved. I'm not saying I agree or disagree but I know that it is going to be funny watching staff that have been given no formal training butchering their way through these phrases. |

An uneducated guess Tukupa. Not the first time I have been wrong and it probably will not be the last either :) I bow to your superior knowledge. |

| 1289942 | 2012-07-22 00:17:00 | And you care why? I know I don't. I do because its just another step along the way of the National Partys policy of Separatism. |

| 1289943 | 2012-07-22 00:21:00 | Even though English is spoken by the majority of New Zealanders Maori is an official language of New Zealand. I see nothing wrong with keeping the Maori laguage alive by having people learn the language. I am guessing that only a small minority of New Zealanders speak fluent Maori. I see nothing wrong with words of greeting being spoken in both Maori and English. | Bobh (5192) | ||
