Truth be told with an captive audience in a theatre someone with a bolt action rifle (found on almost very farm in NZ) and some speed clips could easily do the same carnage in NZ which has the toughest gun laws in the Western world. A 303 Le Enfield with speed clips was so effective the germans sometimes thought they were facing an auto rifle. Beat their 5 shot Mauser 8MM hands down. Its nutters we have to watch out for not how many guns are out there. You can only fire one at once. What would have stopped this shooter dead was someone in the audience with a pistol. |

Or two, if you are Lara Croft or are holding Uzi's.... |

"Oates said the gunman wore a gas mask and a ballistic helmet and vest, as well as leg, groin and throat protectors. He said among the guns was an AR-15 rifle" I don't think one person with a pistol would have achieved much, more than one would probably trade shots with each other. |

Not that he wasn't by law ineligible for age, citizenship, but using the web to buy munitions should be curtailed if not stopped. On a serious note -- he had a high tech degree and could only find work at McD's. Frustrating? In spades!!!!! Add to the mix that the vid-games he played all answer frustration with violence and you have a cork about to blow. Too bad a lot of people paid such a high price for his personal demons. |

At least if they were trading shots less other people would have got shot. And the person with the pistol might have been a better shot (say ex army or ex police) |
