1289681 2012-07-20 08:09:00 Anyone know if a 92 Bluebird 2.0L DOHC has a cam belt or a chain, my googling skills are failing tonight gary67 (56)
1289682 2012-07-20 08:41:00 Have a look at your VIN plate and see which engine it has?

IIRC SR20D engines have a chain.

1289683 2012-07-20 08:56:00 Thanks boy is looking at one with only 130,000kms on the clock gary67 (56)
1289684 2012-07-20 22:17:00 Depends on the price as to how much your going to panic over the cambelt needing replacing! coldfront (15814)
1289685 2012-07-21 00:25:00 Turns out it doesn't have one, its the chain version, he bought it for $2k gary67 (56)
1289686 2012-07-21 01:53:00 With those engines, if the cam/rockers are squeaking and/or rattling, DON'T buy it, it's had insufficient oil changes and the pipes/nozzles that squirt oil onto the cam-lobes have blocked up (a common problem).:waughh: feersumendjinn (64)
1289687 2012-07-21 03:09:00 It's got a full service history thankfully, only 2 owners from new gary67 (56)
1289688 2012-07-21 03:13:00 K's seem to be a bit low, if original engine, almost out by 100, 000 K. If the chain rattles on cold start up, may need new tensioner and/or top guide. Cam sensors can die on SR20's after about 15 or so years, if the distributor oil seal has not been changed. Swapped out a few. kahawai chaser (3545)
