1290354 2012-07-29 22:25:00 Billy, you are spot on about the Navman instructions, they couldn't make them more convoluted and obtuse if they tried. Other than that I love my MY55, especially when I am trying to find my way around an unfamiliar city. I may update it soon to the latest large screen model, if I decide it is worth it. I find the intersection displays invaluable around Auckland motorway junctions.

Coldfront, I don't get your lane crossing bit. Mine just says "Destination on the right (or left)'' and leaves it at that.

Ah-so, I was unaware of the feature-deprived Ezy-underworld that lies below the MY series. I have an MY75 and an MY90. I bought the MY75, so just for spite Mrs T promptly won an MY80, which was faulty, so one repair and two (recon) replacements later, Navman gave us a 'new in box' MY90. To be frank, I hardly ever use either of them because only the newer southern-eastern suburbs are unknown to me and I don't need to go there anyway.

Cheers

I think it applies mainly to state highways! Then again most of the roads I drive in my area are state highway designations.

This destination is on SH4 so when I am heading North to get to the destination which is on my right, it involves crossing over the opposite carriegeway. I figure it is a safety feature given that there is a side road 100 metres either side, so it places me in the side road to do a loop around the block to the destination.

1290357 2012-07-30 08:35:00 That's quite a feature. My old Garmin XT offered a fastest option vs a shortest distance option, that I found useful.

Missed this post before!

El chepo Garmin I recntly got has also this option. I like the speedo feature and altitude readings on it which I find more useful in day to day driving than programming a route to where I already know. The only thing I dont really like about it is the time to destination which leaves little time for error and you can find yourself pushing to make up the time. Something the Navman makes a more relaxing drive for when you dont get pushed for time.
